A WHITE AND RUSSET JADE 'LUDUAN' PENDANT
QING DYNASTY, 18TH-19TH CENTURY
The pendant is carved in the form of a luduan seated on its haunches, a snake slithering up through its clawed front paws to its rotund body carved with swirls and keyfrets on the sides. The white stone has a faint celadon tinge, partly suffused with russet inclusions and milky mottling.
2 1/4 in. (5.6 cm.) long
