MING DYNASTY (1368-1644)
The oblong plaque is carved and pierced in the centre with a dancing boy surrounded by twelve characters representing the twelve earthly branches on one side, the other side of the boy is surrounded by the eight trigrams. The plaque is surmounted by a scaly dragon in profile at the top, the bottom is carved with a dragon-carp. The mottled white stone is suffused with russet inclusions.
