QING DYNASTY, 18TH CENTURY
The heavily potted vase is covered with a lustrous red glaze of a deep ox-blood tone, with concentrated areas of dark red streaks. The base is applied with a caramel dressing.
13 3/8 in. (34.1 cm.) high, wood stand, Japanese wood box
Provenance
According to the inscription on the Japanese wood box, this vase was given as a gift in 1939 to Mr Murata by Liang Xiaofeng, the governor of Qingyuan county in Liaoning province.
