Lot Essay

THe finely detailed gilt decoration on the present vase is exceptionally well preserved. For a similar gilt-decorated blue-ground Guangxu-period bottle vase, see National Museum of History: Major Holdings of the National Museum of History, Taipei, 1988, p. 72. Another example from the Kwan Collection was exhibited, Imperial Porcelain of Late Qing, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, 13 August - 25 September 1983, p. 125, no. 126.
