The dial engraved with scrolling foliage overall, signed Gerardus Brand/fecit/Amstelodamj, with Roman chapter ring, the two train movement with verge balance wheel escapement and count wheel strike to bell; with four weights

Lot Essay

Brand was born in Middelburg in 1594. He settled in Amsterdam and had a workshop on the Rokin. He died in 1659.
