拍品专文

The present drawing is stylistically close to several other studies, which bear the artist's monogram 'P.VB' (of which there are examples in the Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam, the Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen, Rotterdam, and the Staatliche Museen, Berlin). Another example, signed 'P. Verbeeq', is in the British Museum (Hind 1), London. The pose of the horse is very similar to that shown in the picture A horse beneath a gateway in the Musée des Augustins, Toulouse (D. Fiozzi, Les tableaux hollandais des XVIIe et XVIIIe siècles du musée des Augustins: catalogue raisonné, Toulouse, 2004, no. 36, illustrated no. 107).
