(45.7 cm.) blued four-stage sighted barrel struck with an Ordnance sold-out-of-service mark on the left side, blued breech-section, case-hardened action and lock, the latter with Maynard's patent tape primer, walnut butt, and iron mounts including hinged patchbox-cover, saddle-ring and trigger-guard housing two triggers, the front trigger acting as the barrel-release, retaining some original finish throughout, Ordnance inspection marks
