Lot Essay

Accompanied by a Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch in 1951 and its subsequent sale on November 16th of the same year.

Reference 2449 Grande Calatrava was introduced in 1948 and produced for only a few years. It was made in yellow gold and pink gold, and made in two series. The present watch is from the first series, and it is only the fifth pink gold reference 2449 identified at auction.

To the best of out knowledge this watch has never before been offered in public.
