A RARE PAIR OF GOLD-INLAID CARVED CHENXIANGMU WOOD BANGLES
LATE QING DYNASTY
The outer surface of each is carved in relief with four dragons emerging from clouds, with the details picked out in gold inlay, and bordered on either side with a narrow beaded gold band. The interiors of the bangles are mounted in gold sheet.
3 1/8 in. (8 cm.) diam.
Provenance
Reverend Isaac Taylor Headland (1859-1942) Collection, and thence by decent within the family.
