AN AMOROUS COUPLE
POSSIBLY BIKANER, MUGHAL INDIA, SECOND QUARTER 18TH CENTURY
Opaque and transparent pigments and gold on paper, the bearded noble wears a white turban and jama, the lady a brown veil over a pink robe, they hold a gold wine cup, leaning against a red bolster, a bottle, a ewer and sweetmeats before them, on purple ground, with cream, yellow and red borders, the reverse with erroneous identification inscription in black devanagari script
