A PAIR OF BLUE AND WHITE GARDEN STOOLS
LATE QING DYNASTY
Each stool is painted on the curved sides with birds in flight amidst lotus and peony blossoms, pierced in between with two coin-shaped cartouches, between an upper register of precious objects and lower register of bamboo stems. The top is decorated with butterflies and flowers surrounding an openwork coin-shaped medallion.
