A RUBY-GROUND FAMILLE ROSE ALTER VASE, GU
QIANLONG SIX-CHARACTER SEAL MARK IN IRON RED AND OF THE PERIOD (1736-1795)
Of archaic bronze shape, the vase is finely decorated in bright enamels on the flaring neck with four of the Eight Buddhist Emblems divided by lotus blooms above the reign mark in a line on the neck, supported on the bell-shaped foot enamelled with the remaining four Buddhist emblems, all reserved on a ruby enamel ground. The interior and base are covered with a turquoise enamel.
