Each inlaid overall with floral marquetry, the top centred by a flowerhead, above a conformingly-decorated frieze and pinecone apron, on square tapering legs, originally conceived as a card table

A comparable shaped games table to this pair of consoles, which were in fact originally conceived as games tables, can be found in the Espirito Santo Silva Foundation, Lisbon and is illustrated in A. de Brethencourt & F.
