SIGNED IBRAHIM AL-KHULUSI, OTTOMAN TURKEY, DATED JUMADA I AH 1288/JULY-AUGUST 1871 AD
Arabic manuscript on paper, 301ff. plus 4 fly-leaves, each folio with 15ll. of elegant black naskh, gold verse roundels, sura headings in white on gold illuminated panels, text panels within gold and red rules, gold and polychrome marginal medallions marking various points in the text, opening bifolio fully illuminated surrounding text in clouds reserved against stippled gold ground, the colophon set in a diamond-shaped cartouche surrounded by scrolling floral vine, signed al-Sayyid Ibrahim al-Khulusi Naqib-Zadeh min talamidh Ahmad al-Lutfi Effendi and dated Jumada I 1288, the final folio with prayers and stating that it was illuminated by Resmi, in original stamped and gilded brown morocco
