FLORENCE NIGHTINGALE (1820-1910)
A 3-page autograph letter, signed, from 10 South Street, Park Lane. W., April 1st, 1881, to Miss Isabel Johnston, discussing appointments and stating: "I am helpless and worn out, body and still more mind, having had a choice of anxieties for the last 6 months ...." A second one-page autograph letter of 5 lines from the same address, dated May 12th 1881, to Miss Johnston stating: "I have heard from Miss Toby. But she seems again falling into undervaluing her work at Sarajevo in wanting to come home -- That will pass away," in original stamped envelope addressed to Bosnia, Sarajevo. With another one-page autograph letter, signed with initials and 5 autograph notes, signed, two with initials, to the same recipient. (8)
