A 3-page autograph letter, signed, by Jane Porter, from Dee Side, Chester, February 10th, 1837, to the Revd. C.W. Lawrence of St. Luke's, Liverpool, thanking him for his present of "the sweet little volume of Mrs. Lawrence's 'Recollections of Mrs. Hemans' ... tell her that should I ever visit Liverpool ... I will come to her, as an always deep sympathiser in the poetry of Mrs. Heman; and who I always lament never being in the way of knowing. -- I will come to her, as a favourite of Sir Walter Scott, in my infancy and his own playful youth!" (occasional light spotting). With 6 other letters, 3 by Lady Dacre, the others by Lady Morgan, Hannah Rathbone and Caroline Norton. (7)
