Two one-page typed letters of 9 and 19 lines respectively, signed, on paper headed "Emmet, Marvin & Roosevelt, Counsellors at Law," from 52 Wall Street, New York, May 6 and 17, 1921, to the British Consulate-General, New York City, U.S. Commissioner of Immigration and the Collector of the Port, New York City, requesting safe passage of a family servant to England and back: "In view of the pending legislation regarding the restriction of immigration into the United States, Miss Jarvis' return to my family may be subject to new regulations. I shall therefore be very glad if you can in anyway assist her in obtaining the necessary papers in London before her return" (creased on folds). With Miss Jarvis's baptism certificate enclosed. (2)
