THREE PALE CELADON JADE PLAQUES
19TH-20TH CENTURY
The group comprises: a plaque carved with a bird and bamboo, the reverse inscribed zhi xian zhu shou, which may be translated as 'the linzhi spirit wishes you longevity'; a plaque carved with a scholar in a garden with a poetic inscription to the reverse; and a plaque incised with a peony spray, the reverse with the character xi for happiness. The the stones are all of an even pale tone.
The largest 2 ½ in. (6.3 cm.) long
