4º (275 x 192mm). Hand-coloured aquatint title vignette and 27 plates. Original black turkey-backed boards, smooth gilt spine, uncut; folding cloth case. Provenance: Marston Library (inscription on pastedown dated 1826) -- Richard Boyle (1829-1904), Viscount Dungarvon (bookplate) -- gift of Lionel Robinson, 1947.

FINE COPY of the earliest work on Madeira listed in Abbey. The attractive plates are unsigned. An advertisement for The History of Johnny Que Genus, illustrated by Thomas Rowlandson, appears at the end. Watermarked 1821. Abbey Travel 189; Colas 1455; Lipperheide 1581; Tooley 150.
