7 original parts, 4° (253 x 354mm). Letterpress title, 42 hand-coloured etched plates, by and after Alken. Original printed wrappers, front covers printed with title, imprint, date and price of ‘twelve shillings each part’; mid 20th-century cloth chemise and brown morocco slipcase, spine and other case edges gilt (torn at bottom edge). Provenance: Part numbers added to covers in a contemporary hand – purchased from the De Peyster Sale, American Art, New York, 15 March 1932.

WELL DRAWN’ SCENES' intended for scrap books or copying by amateur artists. Parts 6 and 7 depict Turkish and English cavalry. The earlier parts show shooting, a wayside inn, dogs fighting, a seriously angry bull, bowling, horses and dogs, coaching, hunting, and horse-racing scenes.
