3 parts. 4° (270 x 218mm). 9 hand-coloured etched and aquatint plates, published without title and text. (Light marginal water staining and very light soiling.) Original yellow printed wrappers, stitched as issued, front cover design by J. H. Shepherd after W. Welch (slightly soiled and faded); later calf chemise and cloth slipcase. Provenance: purchased at the Hearst Sale, 1 March 1940.

RARE IN ORIGINAL PARTS. Although Dawe is known as a portrait and history painter, he worked mainly as a mezzotint engraver for at least twenty-four years, and here exercises his old craft. Abbey Life 310.
