RARE FIRST EDITION, with pre-publication watermarks. Each plate illustrates some essential quality of a fashionable beau, with the legends providing an ironic commentary on the foibles of the times. Plates watermarked 1822: the Abbey copy is watermarked 1824-25. Abbey Life, 286; Tooley 204.
