A CARVED ZITAN 'SHOULAO' BRUSH POT
EARLY QING PERIOD, 17TH-18TH CENTURY
The irregularly-shaped brush pot is carved in high relief depicting Shoulao grasping a peach in his hands astride a deer, with a bat hovering above, the other side with intertwining pine trees emerging from rocky mountains carved utilising the uneven surface of the wood.
