A HUANGHUALI RECESSED-LEG LOW TABLE, QIAOTOUAN
QING DYNASTY, 18TH CENTURY
The beaded top panel terminating with everted ends is fitted to the legs and spandrels using the traditional bridle joint technique. The straight apron and cusped curvilinear spandrel head are carved with notched square scrolls and flanked by pairs of archaistic dragons. Each end with legs flanking a panel pierced with similar dragons, and secured on the underside by a transverse stretcher and shoe feet.
