A FINELY CARVED WHITE JADE 'CHILONG' WASHER
QING DYNASTY, 18TH CENTURY
The quatrefoil washer is carved in high relief with four chilong, each with a bifurcated tail, clambering over the rim, overlooking a fifth chilong in the centre of the washer in pursuit of a flaming pearl. The base is inscribed with a Qianlong four-character mark which is possibly of the period. The stone is of a rich 'mutton fat' tone with a high polish.
