A CARVED LONGQUAN CELADON JAR AND COVER
MING DYNASTY, 15TH CENTURY
The well-potted, globular body is carved with vertical panels of composite floral scroll above a band of upright petals. The cover is carved with a similar foliate pattern, and is surmounted by a bud-form finial. The jar is covered in a glaze of pale greenish-grey tone.
