A CARVED ALOESWOOD BRUSH POT
QING DYNASTY, 18TH-19TH CENTURY
The brush pot is deeply carved to the exterior with a scene of five scholars and their attendants within a rocky landscape playing weiqi and drinking wine, below a large meandering pine tree. The reverse is carved with two wutong trees emerging from the rocky crevices.
