CHINE, FIN DE LA DYNASTIE MING, XVIIEME SIECLE
The tall rectangular trunk is decorated to the exterior in gilt with a central cartouche containing a dragon surrounded by Daoist emblems, reserved on a ground of wispy clouds. The edges are applied with pierced metal fittings and a gilt metal handle decorated with floral scrolls is applied to the centre.
