The present pair of wall-lights is related to the set of four from the Salon des Jeux de la Reine at Fontainebleau, now in the Wallace Collection. Of the three pairs of wall-lights originally in the Salon des Jeux, two pairs had previously been used in the Chambre du Roi at Compiegne and were sent to Fontainebleau in 1786.
