PHOTOGRAPHY – An album of fine and large early photographs of flowers from nature, English school, c. 1860.
25 albumen prints (various sizes c. 165– 220 x 175-290mm, and the reverse), most with corners rounded-off, five trimmed into ovals, each mounted on white paper and in turn mounted in an album, 2° (535 x 420mm), onto leaves of taupe-coloured paper. (Occasional minor fading, occasional minor scattered spotting mainly in the mount, but overall in very good condition.) Contemporary navy blue morocco by Lewis, with his stamp, lettered in gilt directly along spine within a gilt interlacing frame, sides with a wide foliate gilt border, the upper cover centred with gilt title within a wreath of sprays, lined with cream moiré silk, gilt inner dentelles, gilt edges (extremities lightly rubbed, upper cover dusty).
