Each on short straight foot, of shallow form with wide gently sloping rim, the blue, green and red painted decoration consisting of a central floral bloom flanked by two swaying saz leaves rising from a tuft of grass, surrounded by foliate tendrils, a cusped medallion above, the rim with a band of stylised leaves, the base marked BFK 23/69

BFK is the mark of "Boch Frères Keramis' founded by Eugene and Victor Boch and their brother-in-law in 1841 and located in La Louvière in eastern Belgium. Another BFK Iznik-style dish sold at Christie's South Kensington, 7 October 2011, lot 588.
