Of dark purplish-brown color, the D-shaped inkstone is carved on the top with swirling and crashing waves around the irregularly-shaped well and grinding surface.
4 3/8 in. (11 cm.) long, carved hongmu fitted box
Provenance
The K'ung Hsiang-Hsi (Kong Xiangxi, 1881-1967) Collection, New York, and thence by descent within the family.
