A RARE GREYISH-GREEN AND BROWN JADE FIGURE OF A KNEELING FOREIGNER
TANG-MING DYNASTY, 7TH-16TH CENTURY
The bare-chested man with short curly beard is shown kneeling on one knee as he squats and raises his arms above shoulder height. His face is carved with a broad, triangular nose and large eyes, and his hair is secured with a narrow fillet. The flat base and flat top of the head and hands are drilled for attachment.
