Lot Essay

Shackleton addressed the Société royale de géographie d'Anvers, in the grande salle of the Société royale de zoologie d'Anvers, on 22 October 1909. According to the society's Bulletin (1909, p.405) he projected a film of the expedition, footage including the automobile, the four-man sledging party, the penguin colony, and the reception of the expedition back in Dover.
