Raro Velho do Campanário, Boal 1840
In Black & White Whisky bottle. Damaged seal, signs of old seepage. Bin-soiled label. Level into neck
Tasting note: Deep mineral sweet dried fruit nose. Typical zilty tone. Underlying aromas of Madeiran honey cake. The nose was developing nicely under influence of some air. Full sweet taste, touch spirity, barley sugar, old furniture wood tone from the cask aging ending with a sweet raisiny aromatic finish. Acidity packed in the rich taste. Nice wine, sweeter than expected of a Boal, about 20 years in cask. Aug 2015. EV.
