A PAIR OF FAMILLE ROSE BLUE-GROUND QUATREFOIL-FORM VASES

Each vase is decorated to the body with a cartouche enclosing a scene of scholars playing weiqi on one side and a scholar confronting a warrior on horseback on the other, all surrounded by elaborate gilt floral scrolls on a blue ground. The necks are applied with two scroll-form handles. There is an apocryphal Qianlong mark to each base.
