Green, and by the addition of numerous hand-colored engraved plates, text illuminated in watercolor, gold and silver. Original green morocco, elaborately gilt, with floral design surrounding central coat-of-arms, red and white morocco onlays, red silk doublures and linings, spines in 6 compartments with 5 raised bands gilt-lettered in 2, the rest with a floral design and red and white morocco inlays, top edges gilt, others uncut (a few small scuffs).
LIMITED EDITION, number 4 of 50 copies of the “Anne Hathaway Edition of the Extra Illustrated Henley Shakespeare,” with fine original watercolor and ink drawings by H.C. Green, and elaborately illuminated in watercolor, silver and gold in a fine Art Nouveau style.
