A RARE BLUE GLASS SNUFF BOTTLE
1750-1850
The opaque blue bottle is carved on one side in relief with an eagle standing on one leg on a rocky precipice surrounded by crashing waves, the reverse with a carved inscription reading wei zhen shan he ('power that guards the mountains and rivers'), and two seals.
2 ½ in. (6.4 cm.) high, agate stopper
