A CIZHOU BLACK-GLAZED TRUNCATED MEIPING
NORTHERN SONG DYNASTY (960-1127)
The vase is potted with a narrow countersunk base rising to broad rounded shoulders and a columnar neck underneath an everted galleried rim, covered inside and out with a glossy dark brown glaze thinning to mushroom at the rims, with the exception of the foot and part of the base revealing the pale grey buff body.
