Hand-colored engraved map, dissected into 72 sections and mounted on linen in three panels, overall approximately 992 x 2130 mm. Contemporary morocco pull-off case, gilt-lettered “Carte de La Manche.”

A superb wall map of the British Channel. Scarce early impression: according to the online databases, only copies of the 1794 reissue by Laurie & Whittle have appeared at auction in the last 50 years.
