For related embroidered curtains, see A.J.B. Wace, Mediterranean and Near Eastern Embroideries from the Collection of Mrs F.H. Cook, Londres, 1935, pl. XXIX et XXX and Aegean Crossroads, Greek Island Embroideries in the Textile Museum, James Trilling, Washington, 1983, cat. 39, p. 127 and pl. 16, p. 115. However embroideries with similar motifs have also been attributed to Patmos in Dodecanese and it is often difficult to confirm the geographical origin of these pieces (Margaret Gentles, Turkish and greek Island Embroideries from the Burton Yost Berry Collection in the Art Institution of Chicago, Chicago, 1964, cat. 53.) but recent publications seem to confirm a Cycladic attribution (Sumru Belger Krody, Embroidery of the Greek Islands and Epirus Region, exhibition catalogue, Washington, 2008, cat. 2.3 et 2.4, pp. 46-47).
