A GROUP OF FIVE ZITAN BOXES AND COVERS
20TH CENTURY
The group comprises: a pair of rectangular zitan boxes and covers, carved and pierced with pea shoots growing from leafy vines; a pair of zitan boxes inset with white jade ruyi-sceptre-form plaques, inscribed to the base with the characters xue shun tang; and a rectangular zitan box and cover carved with fungus.
The largest, 8 in. (20.3 cm.) wide

Property from a Private Asian Collection, predominantly assembled in the 1980s and 1990s.
