TWO CELADON JADE CARVINGS OF A MYTHICAL ANIMAL AND A BAT
18TH CENTURY AND LATER
The recumbent mythical animal is carved with a broad snout and beard, with finely detailed fur markings, and with its young clambering onto its back, the stone is of a greenish-white even tone with concentrated areas of milky white and russet. The bat is depicted resting on a leaf which is carved from the russet area of the stone.
The largest, 2 ¼ in. (5.7 cm.) long
