MING DYNASTY, 16TH-17TH CENTURY
The beast is carved in a recumbent position with its legs tucked beneath its body and its finely incised tail resting upon its haunches. The stone is of an attractive greyish-celadon tone with dark russet and brownish streaked inclusions.
