A GILT-WOOD FIGURE OF GUANYIN
YUAN-MING DYNASTY (1279-1644)
The bodhisattva is shown seated in dhyanasana with her left hand resting in dhyanamudra and the right raised in vitarkamudra. She is wearing jewellery and long flowing robes that are tied at the waist. A cowl is draped over her topknot. Her face with downcast eyes shows a benevolent expression.
