Lot Essay

With Breguet undated Certificate of Origin and Warranty, Precious Stones Certificate confirming production of the present watch set with 262 diamonds weighing approximately 11.87 carats, instruction manual, fitted presentation box and outer packaging.

Ever since the establishment of Breguet in the mid 1700’s, the watch manufacturer and horological genius Abraham-Louis Breguet has developed an abundance amount of innovations for the world of horology. In 1780, Breguet created the first self-winding automatic movement, then in 1783, he developed the first Gong-Spring, which was also known as the repeating complication today, and in 1801, he patented his most famous invention, the tourbillon, a device to allow for compensation of the effect of gravity on time keeping.
Still known for these complications and continuing to innovate with radical new movements, the watch offered here is a wonderful example of another of Breguets finest skills date all the way back to 1810 with the first wristwatch made for the Reine de Naples: wrist worn jewellery. Displaying some of the finest diamond setting to grace a wrist watch, the reference 5469 Héritage Chronograph shown here features:

175 invisible set baguette diamonds to the case, bezel and lugs totaling approximately 11.28 carats
84 round diamonds to the dial totaling approximately 0.283 carats
1 briolette diamond to the crown of approximately 0.165 carats
2 briolette diamonds to the pushers totaling approximately 0.15 carats

In addition the folding 18K white gold clasp is also diamond set providing a wonderful remind to the owner of how special the watch is each time they secure it to their wrist.

While the beautiful picture shown here given an impression of how spectacular the stone setting to this watch is, we implore everyone to experience first-hand the brilliant sparkle of so many beautifully set baguette diamonds in the case with their own eyes, and take the chance to go home a significant piece of Breguet’s history.
