2° (550 x 160mm). 16 leaves featuring 13 full-page lithographs heightened in gold, numerous other lithographic illustrations in gilt and colours including large decorative initials, pentagrams, a tarot card and other occult symbols. (A few corners slightly brittle, some edges just chipping). Original wrappers (slightly worn).
RARE ART NOUVEAU BLACK MAGIC CALENDAR. This striking publication brings together various elements of sorcery and occultism to produce a wildly unusual subversion of a typical calendar. Handsomely printed with strong colours in an apparent run of 777 copies, this work is an arresting example of the esoteric style of art nouveau illustration at the fin de siècle. Bib. Esoterica 609; Caillet 8197: 'fort original et d'une rare exécution artistique'.
