Majolique italienne, de forme quadrangulaire à deux étages ajourés reposant sur des pieds-griffes et appliqués aux angles de personnages, chimères et têtes de boucs, à décor de grotesques et des quatre Evangélistes; quelques restaurations, fêlures, petits éclats et égrenures / An Italian (Urbino) maiolica condiment stand, circa 1580, workshop of the Patanazzi family, the waisted salt atop a lower section raised on paw feet and applied at the angles with figures, mythical beasts and goat masks, painted in colours with grotesschi and in monochrome with the four Evangelists; some restoration, cracks, small chips and fritting in places
