Ramos Pinto LBV 1992
Douro
In original wooden cases
Exceptional vintage with great concentration of tannin and fruit. Ramos Pinto did not declare a 1992 vintage port. So all the best fruit went into this LBV. There is much dispute on who was the first to bottle a Late Bottled Vintage but according to the Port Wine Institute Ramos Pinto was the first to declare an LBV, the 1927.
Tasting note. From magnum. At first a bit subdued, cherries, quite direct with slight touch of alcohol. After a while finely perfumed on the nose. Soft texture, rounded with a nice spicy tone on the palette. Very seductive. A remarkably good LBV with nice length and fresh finish. September 2017. EV.
