A BLUE AND WHITE GUYUE XUAN ZHI PORCELAIN SNUFF BOTTLE
JINGDEZHEN KILNS, 1850-1920
The bottle is decorated with a continuous scene of a warrior holding a lance on a copper-red horse exiting the city gate one one side in pursuit of a man and a woman with a cart filled with water jars on the reverse, with dragon-filled thought-clouds above their heads. The four-character mark Guyue Xuan zhi (Ancient Moon Pavilion) is written on top of the mouth, and a cricket is on the base.
2 5/8 in. (6.6 cm.) high, jasper stopper
